<p>White Shadows is a journey into a timeless space, a work begun during the pandemic and developed over the years around an image that represents—at a critical moment for humanity—both a visual reduction and a deepening of reflections that are at once intimate and collective.</p><p>Repeatedly made in the same place, with a fixed frame, in the darkness of night, accompanied only by my camera and shooting from the bed —the intimate place where, each night, our dreams and shadows come to rest— the image captures the light outside, from which I am separated only by a curtain. Through it filter the city, others, and everything that emerges from the darkness in the form of white shadows.</p><p>The shifting landscapes created by the closing of the curtains each night give rise to infinite frames of diverse scenes and profound reflections on life, death, art, and society. A text, both cryptic and poetic, evokes what simply arises from this static journey through infinite abstract landscapes, alluding to an ongoing investigation into art.</p><p><br></p><p>White Shadows was selected and published in <em>BUNKERING</em> (Plaut, Sarovic, Sandor; Constructo; 2021), an edition compiling the work of prominent Chilean photographers. It was also selected for the exhibition <em>Stories of Confinement</em>, organised by the National Museum of Women in the Arts Chile in June 2020.</p>
